Our Family Heritage

The Mayfield-Heard-Montgomery family has a rich heritage that dates back to the 1850s. Our history reflects the strength and resilience of our ancestors, and we celebrate their legacy by coming together. We are the descendants of Hal and Harriet Mayfield, who were born into slavery. They later joined in holy matrimony in 1875, a few years after slavery was outlawed in the United States.
